FAQ
What can the Vineland-3 be used for?
The Vineland Adaptive Behaviour Scales, Third Edition (Vineland-3) provides a standardised measure of adaptive behaviour (behaviours that we use in our everyday lives to function) and may be used to support an intellectual and/or developmental diagnosis. This includes Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) and ADHD.
The Vineland-3 may also be used to monitor progress of diseases such as Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
In all Victorian government schools, a completed Vineland-3 teacher comprehensive form is required in the screening phase of all Disability Inclusion Profile (DIP) submissions, and must be completed within 12 months of the request date.
How long will it take me to complete the Vineland-3 questionnaire?
We recommend you take your time and read each question with care. Depending on the questionnaire administered, it can anywhere from fifteen minutes to an hour.
How long does it take for the Vineland-3 results to be sent back?
Growing Mind Assessments aims to have your completed report back to you within 5 business days after the questionnaire has been submitted for scoring.
What if I don't know an answer on the Vineland-3 questionnaire?
If you are uncertain of a response, you should answer to the best of your knowledge and then tick the ‘Check if Estimated’ option after the question.
Do I need consent from parents/guardians for children under 18-years of age?
Yes. Consent must be given for any persons under the age of 18.
Can a parent fill in a Vineland-3 assessment questionnaire form in place of a teacher for the DIP process?
No. The Disability Inclusion Profile (DIP) states that the teacher comprehensive form may be used as part of the DIP process.
How long does the teacher have to have known the student before they can complete the Vineland-3 questionnaire for the DIP process?
We recommend any questions relating to the Disability Inclusion Profile (DIP) process be directed to your school or regional implementation team.
You can also find further information on The Victorian Department of Education website. Information relating to the DIP process can be found here.
Can anyone administer the Vineland-3 assessment?
No. Administrators of any of the Vineland-3 forms hold relevant Masters or Bachelor qualifications and further formal accreditation to ethically administer and score User Level B assessments.
